Lord, Teach Us To Pray

Lent 2024

“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples’” (Luke 11:1).

Jesus responded by teaching his disciples the most famous prayer of all time, the prayer we know as the Lord’s Prayer.

In the Lord’s Prayer Jesus not only gives us a good prayer to pray, but he teaches us the kinds of things we should ask for in all of our prayers. It’s the perfect model prayer.

In the season of Lent, as we prepare for Good Friday and Easter, we want to focus our hearts in prayer. And so each Wednesday throughout Lent we will look at a different line from the Lord’s Prayer and what Jesus has to teach us there.

Our series for Wednesdays (7pm) in Lent, and also for our special services on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday is: Lord, Teach Us To Pray.
